Meet Our Founders
Ashley Sweet and Harris Weinstein are parents of children in the school system ranging from 1st grade to a Junior in High School. Ashley Sweet owned a green cleaning company for 10 years and her family still own and operate Stanley Steemer. Harris Weinstein and his family have owned and expanded KAMO cleaning supplies since 1947. Ashley and Harris met 10 years ago as colleagues in the cleaning industry and started brainstorming about a way to bring green cleaning supplies to families and parents in the community.
After a year and a half of brainstorming, Ashley and Harris presented to the February 2020 Principal’s Conference the concept of a unique year-round fundraiser called Origins of Clean where families can order all of their cleaning supplies locally and a portion will go back to their school of choice.
All of the Principals were thrilled about a fundraiser that would be turn key and would increase attendance in schools by using healthy products. In addition, Ashley and Harris would provide ongoing education to teach about conservation, sustainability and reducing our plastic imprint on the planet during Earth Day and other educational opportunities.
The products are color coded to prevent cross – contamination (think – bathroom orange/kitchen green) and also help teach young ones how to clean!
When COVID hit, Ashley and Harris had to pivot and rework their Origins of Clean Strategy. After some focus groups and talking to local PTO’s, they decided to put their idea to paper and created a user and mobile friendly website for their cleaning products.
Ashley and Harris want these products to not only serve their families, but also provide donations for teachers who are in desperate need of cleaning products throughout the year.
